Personal Update | Northern Virginia Birth Photographer

Personal

It’s been 2.5 months since I posted our birth announcement and I’ve been pretty silent on social media since then.  For that I apologize.  I had these grand illusions that I going to be that lucky lady who didn’t get sick while she was pregnant and would just keep on with life as normal until the baby decided to show up.  That was probably the most naive idea I’ve had this entire time.  Pretty much the week after I posted morning sickness kicked itself into high gear and hasn’t really gone away… at 26 weeks.  Luckily I can keep most of the nausea at bay with a cocktail my midwife recommended but that comes with lots of drowsiness.  Drowsiness is better than nausea but more often than not I feel like days pass by and I haven’t gotten a quarter of my list done (work or otherwise).  Rog has been a rock star though and is working tirelessly to get our two upper levels finished so we have a nice atmosphere for our birth and can just focus on our growing family.  Pregnancy has not been at all what I thought it would be but we are lucky that our little one is healthy and growing like a weed.

In more exciting news, we found out on our anniversary that we are having a little boy!  We were both really surprised since we were thinking girl but couldn’t be happier.  It’s really cool to feel him move and know who’s making waves across my belly.

Over the next couple of weeks I will be blogging a few sessions I shot this summer so be on the look out for those.

i am so happy and excited for you two! And so sorry you have been so sick. I hope it will abate and you can enjoy the experience more. Let’s knit when you feel up to it. Hugs, Nancy
