Baby Kara | Alexandria Newborn Photographer

Life, Newborn, Portrait

Sweet Kara was born to my best friend and her husband on her due date. She is the fourth girl for this growing family and the easiest going babe I have ever seen. Congrats, Brit and Dave! I am so excited I got to spend the weekend with you guys and meet your newest addition.

Britton | Maternity

Maternity

I have been DYING to share this maternity session with you all.  I am from the East Coast, born and raised within a mile of where I live now.  The farthest west I had been until this past week was Texas.  Now don’t get me wrong, I adore my home (I convinced my husband to buy a house here, OK?  He wanted to move to the south.)  I live right near the river and the most awesome bike trail up to Old Town.  I love all the tall, lush trees and every bit of green that surrounds me.  However, southern Utah is absolutely breathtaking.  Surrounded by red mountains wherever you look and lots of lighter, deserty green.  The only grass someone from the East Coast would recognize was in town.  Just gorgeous.  So when I had to the opportunity to shoot Britton’s maternity photos here I was pumped because it was so different from what I was used to.  I am thrilled with how they turned out, especially since I am not used to a later setting sun.  I just want to sit and look at these for hours!

Tom + Brenda

Couples

Tom and Brenda are the sweetest couple.  They raised twelve children and now spend their time traveling to visit everyone and help with all the new grandbabies.  It was such an honor to be able to document the love they have for one another.

Utah: The Rest

Personal

I had every intention of blogging everyday while I was in Utah but that idea was quickly squashed after the first post.  I was having too much fun hanging out, running errands, and exploring St. George which is absolutely gorgeous.  We spent a lot of time picking up necessities for the new baby but also took some time to visit the sites.  We visited Snow Canyon, went to an adorable cupcake shop, and rode the St. George carousel.  All in all it was a wonderful week albeit short.  I miss these girls dearly and wish they weren’t so far away.

Utah: Day One

Personal

Best friend time, hanging out with my some of my favorite little chicas, family meal time.  So far this trip has been wonderful and it so great to see everyone.  Also, Saint George, Utah is absolutely breathtaking.  It is literally a bowl with the city in the center and red rocks surrounding it.  We’re going to some overlooks today and I can’t wait to see the city from above.
